During your stay at Château de Saulon, enjoy a moment of relaxation in the park. On 27 hectares it invites to strolling and contemplation. The river « La Sans Fond », century-old trees, a private fishing pond will immerse you in a truly buccolic atmosphere. If you would like to tease fish, we provide you with fishing rods at the reception of the hotel.

As soon as the weather permits, dive in the turquoise water of the outdoor pool. A not so deep pool is available for the kids. These heated pools welcome you from Easter to October. And all around, a terrace with deckchairs and parasols invites to relaxation.

As far as sports activities are concerned, enjoy a tennis court and a ping-pong table. We lend you the necessary material.

Carriage rides are likewise organised starting from the chateau (with surcharge).

Oenotourism

In the heart of Burgundy, you cannot miss a tasting of the local wines and a visit to the vineyards. The Route des Grands Crus, referred to as the Champs-Élysées of Burgundy, is only a few kilometres from our hotel-restaurant. Between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, it covers a distance of 60 km between Dijon and Santenay and takes you through prestigious viticultural villages such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Pommard…

Benefit from your stay in Burgundy to discover the region:

  • In Dijon (12 km): visit the Fine Arts Museum. It is is located in the famous Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. Discover also the cathedral Saint-Bégnine, the Chartreuse de Champmol, which hosts the famous Well of Moses… Capital of the Dukes of Burgundy, referred to as « City of Art and History », Dijon has a particularly rich heritage.
  • In Beaune (40 km): visit the capital of the wines of Burgundy, a title that Beaune owes, more particularly to the Hospices, Hôtel Dieu where every year on the 3rd Sunday in November, the most famous wine charity auction in the world takes place.
  • The abbeys: Burgundy has numerous abbeys that testify to the religious architecture of the Middle Ages. Amongst the most famous ones, we suggest that you visit Abbaye de Cîteaux (11 km), Abbaye de Fontenay (86 km), Abbaye de Tournus (90 km) and Abbaye de Cluny (112 km).
  • The chateaux: visit the most famous chateaux of Côte d’Or including Clos de Vougeot (14 km), Commarin (43 km), Châteauneuf-en-Auxois (47 km) and Rochepot (56 km).
  • The Cassissium in Nuits-Saint-Georges (23 km) : leave the universe of wine and join the world of blackcurrant. During a playful and interactive visit this berry and its derivatives will reveal its gourmet secrets.
